Ukrainian companies Culver Aerospace and GLEFA unveil Behemoth mid-strike drone: what is known about it

Ukrainian companies Culver Aerospace and GLEFA have unveiled the Behemoth mid-strike drone, which has already seen combat use. Information about the system appeared on social media on 21 May.

According to published technical data, the UAV is engineered to engage targets at ranges of up to 300 km and carry a payload of up to 75 kg. The platform’s warhead configuration consists of a tandem charge fusing a shaped charge with a thermobaric munition.

A defining design characteristic of the Behemoth is its ability to fly at low altitude, which reduces visibility and complicates detection and interception by enemy air defence frameworks.

The UAV supports both manual FPV control modes and fully autonomous mission profiles. Command links and data telemetry are maintained via the integrated Starlink satellite communication system.

The developers have also disclosed a Behemoth deepstrike version; however, no verified performance characteristics or technical parameters for this configuration have been released at this stage.

Culver Aerospace is a Ukrainian company whose portfolio includes aerial imaging technologies, the Skif reconnaissance drone, and several undisclosed developments.

In April, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Helsing, a German defence tech unicorn. The companies agreed to jointly develop and manufacture systems at a facility in Germany. Production of deep-strike drones under the partnership is expected to be financed by the German government.
