Estonian Thor’s Haven has opened a manufacturing facility in Lviv. The startup produces modular trailers for the military
Danish venture studio Bifrost Defence has invested in the manufacturer

The startup Thor’s Haven, founded by Estonian volunteers, has opened a workshop in Lviv. The project produces mobile trailers for the military — the team started with medical stabilisation points and now also manufactures command centres for UAV operators.
Defender Media learned the startup story from co-founder Torhalla-Maarja Metsniin and also spoke with the project’s investor, Nicholas McGowan von Holstein of Bifrost Defence.
How Thor’s Haven came about
Metsniin has been supporting Ukraine since 2022 — as has the project’s CEO, Estonian medical volunteer Erko Laidinen. They began the trailer project as a volunteer initiative back in the summer of 2023, and in February 2026 announced the launch of Thor’s Haven.
The team already had several orders from military units and non-governmental organisations for medical trailers when Bifrost Defence decided to invest. Bifrost Defence is a Danish venture studio working with defence startups. Its public portfolio also includes Lightmark, a video verification platform, and maritime drone developer Marine Alpha.
The investor was drawn to the startup’s mission – to create infrastructure to support injured Ukrainian soldiers. As well as the founders’ experience: “Erko served on the frontline as a paramedic, Torhalla was and is a fundraiser for various brigades and units. That kind of lived operational experience is rare, and it gives the team a clarity of purpose,” says Bifrost Defence founding partner Nicholas MacGowan von Holstein.
Following the investment, the Thor’s Haven team expanded, gained a business structure, and moved into its own workshop. Previously, they had been working out of a scrapyard.

What the startup is working on
Thor’s Haven’s core product is mobile modular trailers for the military. The startup works with around 30 units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It has already delivered over dozens of mobile stabilisation points, inside which medical personnel can provide care before evacuation to the hospital.
The company has also delivered around 40-50 quad bike trailers to the military for rapid evacuation.
Having initially focused on the needs of medical personnel, the manufacturer has now expanded the purpose of its trailers to serve UAV operators as well. The first mobile command centre has already been sent to the 93rd Brigade. The company plans to develop this line further, as it sees demand, including from interceptor drone operators.

The price of a stabilisation point is €29,000, while a mobile command centre costs €35,000. The company has also developed a smaller trailer for managing interceptor drones, priced at €25,000. Thor’s Haven plans to add mobile repair shops and drone repair facilities to the lineup.
