Destinus successfully tests Ruta Block 2 missile. Ukraine has been using its first version since 2024
The missile can be integrated with mobile and static ground platforms as well as maritime platforms

European company Destinus, co-founded by former Ukrainian finance minister Oleksandr Danyliuk, has successfully completed flight tests of its new Ruta Block 2 missile. The company unveiled the system in early 2026. It can carry a 250 kg payload and has a range of over 700 km.
In its announcement, the company also disclosed several technical details about the new missile. Block 2 features folding wings that deploy in flight, while the booster is positioned linearly rather than laterally. This compact design allows the missile to be transported, stored, and launched from sealed containers.
According to the company, this means faster deployment and the ability to operate from a wider range of platforms. The missile can be integrated with mobile and static ground platforms as well as maritime platforms. It has also been confirmed that Destinus manufactures the key subsystems of Ruta Block 2 in-house.
In addition to the Ruta missile, Destinus’s product line also includes the Kryla air-to-ground cruise missile, the Lord long-range drone, and the Hornet interceptor. The manufacturer has been supplying its unmanned systems to Ukraine since 2023.
In 2024, President Zelensky confirmed the successful testing of Ruta Block 1. According to Destinus, that version has already reached serial production “at a meaningful scale”. Defender Media has previously reported on these and other threads connecting Destinus to Ukraine.
