The Droid NW 40 unmanned ground vehicle, developed by the Ukrainian company DevDroid, has completed the codification procedure and is now available for supply and use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The company’s press service says this is the first grenade-launcher-equipped UGV codified in Ukraine.

Droid NW 40 is a reconnaissance and strike platform adapted to operate with an Mk-19 or AGL-53 40 mm automatic grenade launcher, the Ukrainian analogue of the Mk-19. The system is capable of engaging personnel and lightly armoured targets at ranges of up to 1.5 km. Command and data transmission are supported by six types of communications, including Starlink, LTE and Mesh.

According to the published tactical and technical specifications, Droid NW 40 is equipped with a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher with a 48-round ammunition load and supports both single shots and burst fire. The aiming system can operate in manual mode or using coordinates.

The vehicle’s range on a single battery charge reaches up to 50 km on paved roads and up to 40 km off-road. Continuous movement time is up to 12 hours, while autonomous operation without movement on the ground can last up to 120 hours.

Previously, Defender Media reported on the Droid TW 12.7 UGV, which held one of the 3rd Assault Brigade’s infantry positions for a month and a half and prevented the enemy from capturing it.
