Russian sources: Ukrainian strike drone FP-2 is capable of carrying a 100-kg FAB aerial bomb

The Ukrainian strike drone FP-2, which is used to strike targets in the Russian rear at a tactical range of up to 200 km, can carry an adapted OFAB-100-110-TU aerial bomb as its warhead. Photographs published by Russians at the site of the drone debris indicate this.

Judging by the published images, the aerial bomb had its tail section removed. The full weight of this type of aerial bomb is 121 kg, but without the tail section its weight is about 100 kg. The OFAB marking indicates a high-explosive fragmentation munition, intended primarily to engage unprotected and lightly protected targets.

Ukrainian company Fire Point first publicly presented the middle strike FP-2 UAV in September 2025, although the drone had been used to strike Russian targets prior to that. The FP-2 repeats the design of the long-range FP-1, but with a reduced range – up to 200 km instead of 1,400 km – and an increased warhead weight, quoted by sources at up to 105 kg (according to other company reports – up to 120 kg).

The UAV has variants with autonomous guidance for strikes against static targets and with the option of manual operator control via a radio channel for engaging moving targets. Since its unveiling, numerous videos have appeared showing the use of these UAVs against Russian targets – notably at fuel depots in temporarily occupied Crimea and in Luhansk.
