At the Lviv forum Joint Ventures, Joint Defence, the Ukrainian company Piranha Tech presented a new modular electronic warfare complex, the DF-M, reports Oboronka. The complex has already been codified and is available for orders through the Brave1 marketplace.

The complex is designed to counter Mavic and FPV drones. The system can be deployed on any platform, and the modular design allows the selection of jamming units for specific frequency ranges used by the enemy. The DF-M can combine different antennas – both directional with varying rotation angles and omnidirectional ones that create a “protection dome” over the object.

A directional antenna covers up to 1.5 km for drones such as Mavic or Autel, while an omnidirectional one creates a protective dome with a radius of 100 metres. According to Anatoliy Khrapchynskyi, Deputy Director of Piranha Tech, in the case of EW-sensitive Mavics without military firmware, the system is capable of “closing the sky” at a distance of up to 3 km.

The DF-M operates in the range from 100 to 7,000 MHz, depending on the installed module. Blocks and antennas can be replaced directly on site, enabling a unit to use one device instead of several different EW systems.

The system supports integration with radar or PER, is capable of automatically creating jamming sectors, and can control several complexes simultaneously. It also allows remote control from anywhere in the world if a secure communication channel is available.

Currently, Piranha Tech’s production capacity enables it to manufacture up to 500 such systems per month. The cost of one complex for combating Mavic-type drones is 1 million hryvnias. The company notes that the DF-M’s software has been designed with possible technical modifications in enemy drones in mind, in particular Mavic and Autel, which are easily adaptable.

Piranha Tech is a domestic developer and manufacturer of wide-spectrum electronic warfare systems, operating since 2014. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company has refined its product line to meet modern technical requirements for the effective counteraction of enemy drones and UAVs.

It is also worth noting that the Ukrainian company Unwave earlier presented the Pastka software solution for automated control of electronic warfare and electronic warfare equipment.
