Former defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov launches fund to invest in defence tech
The founder is interested in jet-powered interceptor drones and cheap AI-guided missiles

Former Ukrainian defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov will create a new investment fund that will invest in defence tech. He announced this on social media.
According to Fedorov, this will not be a classic venture fund. He will not only invest in startups but will also create new companies around important technologies himself. The founder names three key areas of interest:
- jet-powered interceptor drones to counter jet-powered Shaheds;
- cheap missiles with artificial intelligence;
- general robotisation of the battlefield, which will make it possible to remove people from the most dangerous sections of the front.
Fedorov is currently in the US, where he is holding talks with potential partners and investors: venture funds, entrepreneurs, technology companies, and others. After that, he plans to form a team, present the fund’s model, and move on to investments.
After resigning as defence minister, Fedorov stated that he would continue working towards defeating the enemy through innovation. He received several alternative job offers from Zelensky and foreign companies, but turned them down.
Ahead of the fund’s announcement, it emerged that Fedorov had become an adviser to Italian defence minister Guido Crosetto. In this role, he will help develop the technologies of modern warfare and adapt to new security challenges.
