WinFly unveils Spider interceptor drone with Karakurt net launcher

Ukrainian defence tech company WinFly has unveiled a new interceptor drone called Spider. It is equipped with the Karakurt net launcher and operates on the platform of the WinFly 10 Hunter UAV. The manufacturer disclosed this to Defender Media.

The Hunter was initially developed to destroy Orlan, ZALA, Supercam, Molniya, copter-type FPV drones, Mavic, and others. To avoid losing the aircraft immediately, troops began fitting the interceptor with a net launcher themselves.

Using it, they shot down enemy reconnaissance and strike FPV drones. Eventually, the manufacturer released the finished product, Spider, with an integrated and configured net launcher.

The Hunter platform can climb to an altitude of 5 km, reach speeds of up to 160 km/h and has a range of over 18 km. The drone’s flight duration is up to 25 minutes.

The Karakurt-K2 net launcher deploys the net at a distance of 3–5 metres, covering an area of 3×3 metres. The system operates at temperatures from −20°C to +50°C. One net shot costs UAH 1,100.

In addition to the Hunter and Spider, WinFly produces strike drones and the Vartovyi Maloho Neba (Guardian of the Low Sky) and Nexis interceptors. Batches of the latter appeared in January 2026, Defender reported. In April this year, Nexis shot down its first Shahed.
