Ukrainian defence companies have signed 54 subsidised finance lease agreements worth a total of UAH 244.53 million. The number of agreements has doubled over the past month, the Ministry of Defence reported.

The scheme enables manufacturers to acquire plant and equipment without paying the full cost upfront. This allows companies to upgrade their production facilities while retaining funds for other manufacturing needs.

The state subsidises part of the lessor’s financing charge, reducing the rate paid by participating companies to 5% per annum. Each agreement can provide up to UAH 500 million in financing over a term of up to five years.

Eligible assets include production equipment, machinery, vehicles, automation systems and other assets needed to manufacture, repair and upgrade weapons, military equipment and ammunition.

The scheme has been running since late 2025 and is open to companies designated as critically important within the defence industrial base. To apply, companies must contact an authorised lessor, which will assess their financial capacity, verify their status and check that the equipment meets the scheme’s requirements.
