Ukrainian defence tech company Unwave has appointed Vasyl Pasternak as Chief Technology Officer. He will lead the company’s technology strategy, build engineering teams, scale R&D, and improve the process of creating new products, the company said in a press release.

From 2020 to 2024, Pasternak headed Nvidia’s Ukrainian R&D office. His team contributed to developing solutions for high-performance computing systems.

At Unwave, he will focus on building the company’s own technology base, strengthening engineering expertise, and integrating developments into comprehensive counter-UAS systems.

“My priority as CTO is to shorten the path from an idea to a finished product and the scaling of its production,” Pasternak said.

According to him, the company plans to deepen cooperation with the military to get feedback faster and adapt its products to evolving battlefield requirements.

Unwave began by developing electronic warfare equipment. The company is now developing a comprehensive counter-UAS system comprising:

  • UAV detection systems;
  • electronic warfare equipment;
  • unmanned platforms;
  • strike platforms.

Unwave employs more than 400 specialists, and the company has manufactured and delivered more than 50,000 products to the Defence Forces.

Earlier, Defender also reported that the Pentagon had enlisted Unwave to test UAVs under the Drone Dominance programme.
