SKYRIPER launches serial production of MINOTAUR FPV drone with 3G/4G control
The first batch of UAVs has already undergone testing in combat conditions

Ukrainian defence tech company SKYRIPER has launched serial production of the heavy 15-inch MINOTAUR FPV drone, which uses UMTS/LTE (3G/4G) networks for control and can continue flying in the event of a loss of connection. The state-run defence cluster Brave1 reported this.
The platform is designed to engage heavy armoured vehicles and fortifications. The drone’s maximum take-off weight is 14 kg, with a payload of 2 to 5.5 kg. Its stated maximum range is up to 25 km. The first batch of UAVs has already undergone testing in combat conditions.
According to SKYRIPER, the use of LTE networks allows the crew to operate from any location. At the same time, the use of a wide range of military mobile communications frequencies and dynamic switching between them is intended to make the drone more difficult to detect and suppress using electronic warfare systems.
If the communications link is lost, the drone activates autonomous mode and continues flying according to preset parameters until the connection is restored. The system automatically maintains the vertical position of the antennas, which is intended to ensure a stable signal during manoeuvres.
MINOTAUR also supports joint missions with ground robotic platforms. According to the developers, this makes it possible to plan the joint use of UAVs and ground robotic systems.
The drone costs around UAH 84,000.
SKYRIPER is a Ukrainian developer and serial manufacturer of codified unmanned systems. The company has a full production and maintenance cycle, including the manufacture of its own electronic components, round-the-clock technical support and crew training.
