Fire Point begins combat trials of FP-7 ballistic missile
According to Fire Point CEO Iryna Terekh, the company’s missiles will strike targets in Russia within the next few weeks

Fire Point has begun military trials of its FP-7 ballistic missile. It has already successfully completed two preliminary testing phases, while the next phase will involve trials under combat conditions and form part of the codification process. Fire Point CEO Iryna Terekh disclosed this at Photonics4Defense 2026: Technology Exchange & Matchmaking, according to Militarnyi.
“We expect it to be ready for operational use very soon. We are talking about weeks, not months,” Terekh said.
The first phase involved ground and laboratory testing of individual systems and subsystems, including the engine and navigation equipment. During the second phase — flight trials — the developers tested the missile’s operation and verified whether its actual performance matched the design specifications.
When the missile was unveiled in September 2025, Fire Point stated the following FP-7 specifications:
- range — up to 200 km;
- warhead payload — 150 kg;
- maximum speed — 1,500 m/s;
- circular error probable — 14 m;
- maximum flight time — 250 seconds.
A year later, the FP-7 was reported to be capable of carrying 200 kg of explosives over a range of up to 300 km.
The more powerful FP-9 ballistic missile is currently undergoing flight trials. When it was unveiled, its stated specifications included a range of up to 855 km, a warhead payload of 800 kg, a speed of up to 2,200 m/s and a maximum flight altitude of 70 km. Its stated accuracy was 20 m.
According to the developers, the FP-9’s long range makes testing difficult to organise, as Ukraine’s territory is insufficient for comprehensive trials. Therefore, once the current phase is complete, its military trials may proceed directly to deployment against Russian targets.
