Ukrainian unmanned systems manufacturer General Cherry and Finnish defence company Patria have signed a memorandum of intent to jointly produce drones in Finland. The signing ceremony was attended by the presidents of the two countries, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Alexander Stubb.

Patria has operated in the defence industry for more than 100 years and produces equipment for land, maritime and air systems. General Cherry says the partnership will add Ukrainian experience in mass-producing drones for real-world combat missions, as well as rapidly improving them based on battlefield data, to this industrial infrastructure.

The Ukrainian manufacturer also notes that Finland and Ukraine share a border with the same aggressor. “Our partnership is built around this shared threat: production capabilities in Finland and Ukrainian defence tech engineering expertise will shape Europe’s security architecture,” General Cherry said.

Defender Media previously reported that General Cherry ranked first in terms of the number of E-points earned in the Delta situational awareness system in July.
