Ukraine’s Defence Ministry has codified the Dovbush T40 unmanned aerial system. The platform is engineered for deep reconnaissance, fire adjustment, and precision strikes against enemy infrastructure, equipment, and personnel deep behind the line of contact, the ministry reported.

The Dovbush T40 boasts an operational range exceeding 2,000 km and an endurance of over 24 hours. Its stated reach enables operations against targets beyond the Urals and into Siberia.

During official trials, the UAV confirmed its stated performance specifications. The Defence Ministry highlights the platform’s low radar cross-section (RCS), high-output engine featuring electronic fuel injection (EFI), and high EW resistance among its core capabilities.

The Dovbush T40 can be deployed in two strike configurations: as a loitering munition (kamikaze drone) or as a payload carrier for dropping munitions.

The system is produced by a Ukrainian manufacturer that also developed the Dovbush T20 and Kotyhoroshko UAS platforms. According to the Defence Ministry, these systems have been deployed on the battlefield since 2022. Development of the Dovbush aircraft series was first publicly disclosed in 2024.

The Dovbush T20 was employed for medium-range reconnaissance, real-time artillery fire adjustment, and precision strikes. The Dovbush T40 was engineered using operational feedback from its predecessor to serve as a long-range strike platform.
