On May 20, a new event from the series of professional discussions on defence tech and partnerships — DEF.Talks — will take place. This time, the discussion will focus on people as a strategic business resource in conditions of war and ongoing uncertainty.

Today, Ukrainian companies are facing a situation where the main constraint on growth is no longer the market or competition, but a shortage of skilled professionals. The impact of mobilisation and the need to reserve critically important employees are shaping a new reality for team management.

Participants in the discussion will share practical experience of adapting to these conditions, talk about effective HR strategies, and outline approaches to ensuring business continuity.

Defender Media is a media partner of the event. Other partners include “General Cherry”, YouControl, and the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation. The event is organised by UNIT.City and BazaIT Defense.

Key topics of the discussion

  • Talent shortages in critical sectors: how businesses are adapting to new conditions
  • People as the key asset: which specialists are critical today
  • The impact of mobilisation on operational processes and business resilience
