Ukrainian company Ratel Robotics has commenced production of a new tracked unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), the ‘Nurse TB’, engineered for logistics and remote mining operations. Defender Media learned of the development directly from the manufacturer.

The ‘Nurse’ is a compact tracked platform weighing 120 kg and is capable of carrying a payload of up to 150 kg, including up to six TM62 anti-tank mines. The system can be configured for diverse roles, ranging from remote mining to the delivery of ammunition and water. It can also be fitted with medical stretchers for casualty evacuation (CASEVAC), allowing wounded personnel to be extracted under fire without risking additional troops.

The UGV is equipped with three swappable batteries. Its operational control range reaches up to 7 km without a relay and extends to 10 km when a relay is utilised. In addition to standard radio control, the ‘Nurse’ can operate via a fibre-optic link, providing an operational range of up to 20 km.

A standout feature of the system is the “follow me” functionality. Utilising an onboard camera and target-tracking algorithms, the robot can automatically follow a soldier.

Within the company’s product portfolio, the ‘Nurse TB’ will succeed the ‘Ratel S’ kamikaze UGV, which is being phased out of production.

Earlier, Defender Media reported on the launch of a dedicated division, Ratel Drones, and the development of its proprietary UAV line, comprising a kamikaze drone, a bomber, and a reconnaissance platform.
