Quantum Systems and Frontline Robotics are launching the first Ukrainian–German defence joint venture, Quantum Frontline Industries. The German company announced this in a press release. The project, implemented under the Build with Ukraine programme, involves the launch of Europe’s first fully automated industrial production line for manufacturing drones for Ukraine.

The joint venture will carry out serial production in Germany of the Zoom and Linza UAVs developed by Frontline Robotics. All products will be transferred to Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

Within the joint venture, Quantum Systems will be responsible for industrial infrastructure and administrative support. Frontline Robotics will provide the manufacturing licence as well as training and instruction for personnel. The project also envisages the creation of jobs for Ukrainian citizens in Germany.

Frontline Robotics says that strong demand for its drones on the battlefield requires rapid scaling of serial production. Establishing a facility in Germany makes it possible to expand capacity in safer conditions and strengthen the capabilities of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

Matthias Lehna, Director of Government Relations and Business Development at Quantum Systems, will become Managing Director of Quantum Frontline Industries. He explained that the newly established company will focus on three key areas: scaling production, expanding the product portfolio, and developing new solutions that combine German engineering with Ukrainian military innovation.

Frontline CEO Yevhen Tretiak hopes that the creation of the joint venture will pave the way for other similar partnerships between Ukrainian and international defence companies.
