GEREON by ARX Robotics to form the world’s largest ‘connected UGV-fleet’ in Ukraine

German company ARX Robotics has secured a significant new order for a large batch of GEREON unmanned ground vehicles for Ukraine. The company announced this in a press release shared with Defender Media. ARX Robotics states that the new contract will expand Ukraine’s GEREON UGV fleet to several hundred systems, creating the world’s largest network of ground military robots.

The company emphasises that production of the new batch of GEREON systems will be partially carried out at ARX Robotics’ facilities in Ukraine, involving local partners. Igor Kornilov, CEO of ARX Robotics Ukraine, notes that this will accelerate fielding with the armed forces and ensure sustainment in service. “We are building capacity and capability in Ukraine that will deliver value beyond this order,” he added.

The new GEREON robotic systems will be integrated with the AI-powered Mithra OS operating system. The company explains that Mithra OS links all UGVs into a single network, enabling coordinated operations, rapid scaling of deployed robots, and real-time data exchange.

The company notes that deliveries of GEREON systems to Ukraine began in early 2025. The new order will be the third wave of supplying these systems to Ukraine’s defence forces.

According to the manufacturer, the UGVs have been field-tested and are already deployed with frontline combat units. Production is split between Europe and the company’s Ukrainian facility.

GEREON is a multi-purpose robotic platform, capable of transporting loads of up to 500 kg at speeds of up to 30 km/h. They are used for frontline logistics, casualty evacuation (MedEvac), reconnaissance, and surveillance.

Mithra OS is an intelligent operating system from ARX Robotics that enables the modernisation of existing vehicle fleets without requiring major capital investment in new platforms. Thanks to AI, the system synchronises and coordinates hundreds of robots into a single ‘swarm’, simplifying mission organisation. The platform’s design enables it to be integrated into various types of vehicles and scaled up quickly.
