The Ukrainian company Air3F has officially unveiled the VARKHAN unmanned ground vehicle, which Defender Media reported on last week. According to Air3F, its first UGV has already passed testing and entered serial production. The platform is designed for logistics, evacuation, and other missions in challenging environments, the manufacturer said.

VARKHAN is positioned as a more affordable alternative to higher-priced systems of this kind. In a comment to Defender Media, Air3F clarified that the analogue-controlled version will cost 297,500 UAH, while the fully equipped model (Starlink, LTE, stretcher, additional batteries) will be priced at 514,000 UAH. The company also noted that it is currently working on codifying the model.

VARKHAN is equipped with an electric motor and a 4×4 drivetrain with portal axle suspension. It is capable of operating on marshy, snowy and rough terrain, withstands dirt and cold, and is suitable for field repairs.

According to the published specifications, the platform offers modularity for rapid mission configuration, maintenance without specialised equipment, and removable batteries for quick replacement. It can operate for up to five hours, carry loads of up to 300 kg and has a range of 40 kilometres. Remote control is available via analogue connection, LTE or Starlink.

Air3F develops and manufactures unmanned aerial systems, ground stations, antennas and other defence-related products. VARKHAN is the company’s first UGV.
