The Brave1 state cluster organised the first specialised matchmaking event, Brave1 Connect, focused on manufacturers of components for unmanned systems, as reported by the cluster’s press service. Around 100 companies specialising in the production of key elements for defence equipment participated in the event.

“Previously, Ukrainian defence tech was mostly associated with drones assembled from imported components. Now, we have a strong base for the production of our own technologies, which allows us to significantly reduce dependence on external suppliers,” said Iryna Zabolotna, Deputy Director of the Innovation Development Fund, of which Brave1 is a part.

A key topic of the event was the ability to make purchases directly through the Brave1 Market marketplace. This platform enables military units to quickly buy even uncodified components, significantly accelerating the response to battlefield needs.

In total, over 400 participants attended Brave1 Connect, including manufacturers, engineers, military personnel, and representatives of research and development teams. The event provided an opportunity for participants to establish new partnerships and discuss the prospects for developing domestic technologies for the defence sector.

Changes in legislation initiated by the Ministry of Digital Transformation have opened new opportunities for manufacturers of UAV components, contributing to the growth of domestic production. This has allowed for a reduction in dependence on imports and the creation of technologies adapted to the realities of war.

It is worth noting that the Verkhovna Rada previously cancelled taxes on the import of optical fibre used in strike FPV drones. Additionally, the Ministry of Strategic Industry launched the “Components Library” to facilitate interaction between component manufacturers and suppliers.
