Ukrainian startup Bavovna.ai has been included in the US military programme Air Force Labs Masschallenge, which works with miltech projects under the US Department of Defence and is funded by the US government, reports AIN.

Bavovna.ai develops drone control systems based on artificial intelligence to enable drones to withstand electronic warfare and operate independently even without communication.

“We have created an AI-enhanced inertial navigation system that provides GPS-level accuracy over long distances without the need for GPS or any other communication with the vehicle. And most importantly, we do not depend on computer vision systems, we have a different approach”, said Maxym Prasolov, CMO at Bavovna.ai.

The Air Force Labs Masschallenge programme works with miltech projects, is funded by the US government and coordinated by the Ministry of Defence. It was hard to get into the programme: according to Prasolov, the team competed with hundreds of others for a place.

By participating in the programme, the team gains access to customers within the US Department of Defence, federal agencies, border control services, and many others. Winning the competition gives the startup access to non-dilutive funding for projects with end customers ranging from $1.25 mln to $10 mln.
