Ukrainian Ministry of Defence certifies domestic heavy remote demining complex Gart 5100
In one daylight shift, it is capable of clearing over 2 hectares of land

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has certified the first heavy remote demining complex, the Gart 5100, developed by Ukrainian engineering company XTI Engineering. The machine is now being prepared for serial production.
The Gart 5100 is designed to neutralise various types of mines and other explosive devices by detonating or destroying them using the hammers of a chain unit or a milling cutter. It is operated remotely at a distance of up to 600 metres, ensuring the safety of the operator. This range can be extended to over 1 kilometre with the use of a repeater.
The machine’s operating speed is 1.5 km/h. In one daylight shift, it is capable of clearing over 2 hectares of land contaminated with explosive hazards, with a demining depth of up to 300 mm. Interchangeable equipment allows the system to be adapted for different soil types.
Development and production are fully domestic: all manufacturing stages are carried out in Ukraine. This simplifies logistics and ensures fast delivery, maintenance, and repair.
The Gart 5100 was first unveiled at the Demine Ukraine forum in December 2024. According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the estimated cost of the machine is €450,000 — significantly lower than comparable European models. Expected production volumes are three to four units per month.
As of December 2024, approximately 144,000 sq km of Ukrainian territory remains contaminated with mines and explosive remnants of war. This widespread contamination poses a serious threat to civilian safety and hinders economic recovery, as vast areas remain unsafe for habitation or agricultural use.
