The Ukrainian firm L7 has unveiled a new, full-scale 82 mm mortar simulator engineered for crew proficiency training. The system accurately replicates the technical operation of KBA-48M1, KBA-48M, and UPIK-82 mortar variants, providing a platform for the comprehensive instruction of military personnel.

The simulator is designed to facilitate the complete operational cycle of a mortar crew without the expenditure of live ammunition. This includes everything from initial aiming and fire adjustment to deployment, displacement, and weapon system maintenance.

The hardware reproduces all components in authentic dimensions and weight, while enabling seamless interaction between participants. Notably, the system incorporates communication with a forward observer via an integrated situational awareness suite, supporting both individual drills and the collective training of multiple crews in a synchronised environment.

According to the developer, the simulator can model an extensive range of operational conditions, including various times of day, seasonal changes, and adverse weather scenarios. It also offers both combat-simulated and autonomous operating modes.

Earlier, Defender Media reported on the codification of the Stinger MANPADS simulator developed by Skiftech.
