Terra A1 interceptor drone downs its first Shahed: video

Japan’s Terra Drone Corporation has reported the successful interception of a Russian Shahed strike drone using the Terra A1 interceptor, a platform developed in collaboration with Amazing Drones.

The interceptor boasts a flight range of up to 32 km, can remain airborne for up to 15 minutes, and is capable of reaching velocities of 300 km/h. The drone is equipped with a 600 g explosive payload.

Terra Drone emphasises the urgent requirement for more cost-effective and sustainable air defence solutions. Following the successful combat validation of the Terra A1, the company intends to ramp up production and expand the operational deployment of its interceptor fleet.

Furthermore, the corporation aims to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into its systems to enable autonomous target acquisition. The Japanese firm also expects to introduce Ukrainian-developed drones to the international market and secure inaugural contracts, further driving production scaling. Terra Drone is already actively participating in Japanese government tenders.
