The 7th Rapid Response Corps of the AAF establishes innovation and technology centre. What it does

The 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces has launched its own innovation and technology centre. Its mission is to consolidate the technological potential of all units and synchronise the rollout of new developments across the entire corps, the press service disclosed to Defender Media.

The problem is explained as follows: the corps’ brigades already have their own workshops and laboratories and cooperate with deftech manufacturers. At the same time, effective solutions often remain localised. The new centre is intended to help scale them.

The corps adds that the centre will make it possible to implement requests that correspond to changes at the front. “The trend towards developing kamikaze aircraft will be one of the first improvements in our war,” announced Denys Polyachenko, head of the corps’ UAV directorate.

The 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces is fighting in eastern Ukraine in the Pokrovsk agglomeration. The corps reports that several important projects are already being implemented to improve the effectiveness of its assault troops. In particular, artillery crews have begun using exoskeletons. Thanks to these, servicemen who carry 15–30 shells daily experience less fatigue and work faster.

The corps has also integrated a friend-or-foe identification system with modern radar complexes and established cooperation with the Ministry of Defence’s innovation and defence technology development centre.
