DEV Challenge and UNIT.City to hold a meetup for CTOs in defence tech
Speakers from the Ministry of Defence, HIMERA and Frontline will discuss how CTOs overcome challenges in the defence sector

On 3rd of April, UNIT.City Innovation Park will host a meetup from the How to Become Great CTO series. The meetup will be dedicated to technological leadership in defence tech.
The organisers remind that, over the past three years, the number of Ukrainian companies in this sector has grown from 20 to 1500. Ukraine has a chance to become a global leader in defence entrepreneurship, but the rapid development of the industry poses serious challenges for CTOs. At the event, speakers from the Ministry of Defence and leading Ukrainian startups will discuss how to overcome these challenges.
Meetup speakers:
- Artem Romaniukov, the Head of the Directorate of Digital Transformation in the Ministry of Defence. He contributed to the implementation of the Reserve+ app and is currently working on the Army+ application for military personnel.
- Oleksiy Oliynyk, CTO & Co-Founder of HIMERA, a Ukrainian developer and manufacturer of communication systems for the Defense Forces. Its products are already used by all types of units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as by the U.S. Air Force and Special Operations Forces. The company has attracted over $1.2M in investments.
- Pavlo Kosolapkin is the CTO and Co-Founder of Frontline Robotics. Their technology enables a single operator to control multiple drones at once, mitigating the personnel shortage in wartime. Pavlo also has eight years of experience in R&D in the high-tech field.
Defender Media is a media partner of the event. Tickets can be purchased here, and part of the proceeds will go to financial support for one of the most technologically advanced units in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Black Forest Brigade.
