The Verkhovna Rada has approved, in the first reading, draft law No. 13392, which promotes the state procurement of Ukrainian and locally assembled defence products. This was reported on Facebook by People’s Deputy Halyna Yanchenko.

“From now on, if the state buys a product costing more than UAH 1 million, it must be made in Ukraine or contain a Ukrainian part: assembly, installation or components,” Yanchenko writes.

According to her, the localization share will gradually increase: to 25 % in 2025, 30 % in 2026, 35 % in 2027, and up to 40 % in 2032.

Yanchenko believes that the adoption of the bill will reduce dependence on imports, provide additional orders to Ukrainian enterprises and create new jobs. “Up to 40 % of the cost of a Ukrainian product returns to the budget through taxes and works for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” she emphasized.

Currently, draft law No. 13392 is being prepared for the second reading.
