The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has expanded the functionality of the zbroya.gov.ua portal by introducing a new service for manufacturers of weapons and military equipment – online access to the codifying procedure.

The service allows manufacturers to submit an application through the “window for manufacturers of weapons and military equipment” and quickly complete the procedure for codifying a new model of weapons or military equipment. The procedure is free of charge and is designed to accelerate the delivery of Ukrainian weapons to the troops.

Through the portal, manufacturers can manage all stages of weapons development – from testing and codification to securing funding, recruiting personnel, and scaling up production.

How the service works:

  • The manufacturer submits an application and attaches the required documents.
  • The Ministry of Defence reviews the submitted materials.
  • The manufacturer receives a conclusion from the commission of the Main Directorate for Ensuring Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Equipment, including recommendations on the feasibility of codification.
  • The sample is assigned a NATO nomenclature code and a temporary staff number.

In the codification application, the manufacturer provides its own details, the category of the weapon, the project’s level of maturity (from basic principles to fully launched production), completed tests, performance characteristics, design documentation, and information on investors and serial production.

The website mil-tech.mod.gov.ua contains a step-by-step guide for preparing products for codification, standard document templates, and explanations on codifying unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare equipment, and ammunition.

Manufacturers can obtain advice on specific aspects of codification via the online form on the website or by calling +38 044-454-73-26.

The “Zbroya” portal was launched in August as a single platform for weapons manufacturers. The portal consolidates key government services, support programmes, and relevant information for enterprises in the defence-industrial complex.
