UADefense unveiled its fibre optic USV M.A.K.
It can carry a combat payload of up to 60 kg, the type and power of which can be changed

Ukrainian company UADefense has unveiled the M.A.K. surface drone, which could be controlled by various types of communication. The drone can carry not only combat equipment, but also other FPV drones, according to Militarnyi.
A company representative said that M.A.K. was initially designed as a river drone, but it can also operate in marine conditions with waves up to 0.75 meters high. It can carry a combat payload of up to 60 kg, the type and power of which can be changed as needed. The platform is also suitable for logistics and reconnaissance.
The specific cost of the drone has not been announced, but it is claimed to be cheaper than the Magura or Sea Baby drones used by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and The Security Service of Ukraine. It can be controlled via various types of communication: Starlink, LTE, Mesh systems, and fiber optic cable. The developers add that the type can be changed during the mission.
Other specs:
- M.A.K. operating range – from 30 to 50 km
- Speed – 40 km/h, equipped with a Chinese electric motor
- The boat is made of fiberglass, and the drone’s silhouette rises 30 cm above the water
The manufacturers say that the M.A.K. has been tested and is now being codified.
UADefense was founded in 2020, and drone development is just one of its areas of focus. It also creates Hermes control systems, offers cybersecurity solutions, and modernizes armored vehicles. In addition, the company’s R&D center develops telecommunications systems and equipment, as well as software with artificial intelligence elements.
