Ptashka Drones has codified a line of five fibre-optic drones
Five 13-inch drones equipped with fibre-optic reels for 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 km ranges have been codified

Ukrainian fibre-optic drones developed by Ptashka Drones have successfully passed the codification process and been approved for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the manufacturer reports.
The list of codified models includes 13-inch drones fitted with fibre-optic reels designed for ranges of 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 kilometres.
During the recent trials organised by the state defence tech cluster Brave1, Ptashka Drones presented drone models with flight ranges of 35 km and 30 km, as well as a 10-inch model with a 20-km operating radius. The drones are equipped with warheads weighing up to 1.5 kg.
The company’s portfolio also includes drones with 7-, 10-, 15- and 20-inch frames. The cost of one drone starts from ₴28,000, depending on the modification requested by the military.
One of the key features of the Ptashka systems is their proprietary fibre-winding technology. The process involves two stages — the fibre is rewound twice, preventing twisting and tangling. According to the company, drones fitted with these reels achieve up to 80 per cent successful flights.
The codification of fibre-optic drones in Ukraine began in May 2025, with the first to undergo the process being the Khyzhak REBOFF UAVs developed by 3DTech.
