{"id":35785,"date":"2026-07-31T13:29:47","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T10:29:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/?p=35785"},"modified":"2026-07-31T13:30:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T10:30:11","slug":"ukrainian-armor-modernised-protector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2026\/07\/ukrainian-armor-modernised-protector\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukrainian Armor upgrades Protector UGV, nearly doubling its payload capacity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ukrainian defence company Ukrainian Armor has upgraded its heavy Protector unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), nearly doubling its payload capacity from 770 kg to 1,480 kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video alignleft video 50\"><video height=\"640\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 360 \/ 640;\" width=\"360\" controls src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/fdownloader.net_aqn_d4eoy9ximg4bg3_8vj_7o8c9wuhdar1aes8rlvcxxwnd3vorywaip_ij0ayyhtztr6sqkwup0k_hrc1ta1xjihhy_e7dzzc5ngul9q_360p_sd.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a comment to Defender Media, a company representative said the upgraded Protector also features a new camera with voice control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/ua-armor\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/ua-armor\/\">Ukrainian Armor<\/a> has enhanced the UGV&#8217;s communications system by adding LTE connectivity alongside its primary Starlink communication channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision to increase Protector&#8217;s payload capacity followed an analysis of operational performance, which showed that the platform&#8217;s actual capabilities exceeded its previously stated specifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The manufacturer also refined the vehicle&#8217;s design.
