The target was engaged with a Shrike 10 drone manufactured by Ukrainian company <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/skyfall\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/skyfall\/\">SkyFall<\/a>, the company said. The strike took place at around 10:00 near the village of Viazove in Russia&#8217;s Belgorod region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SkyFall shared footage of the operation with Defender Media. The video captures the moment of impact, but the helicopter&#8217;s fate remains unknown. However, Commander of Ukraine&#8217;s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert &#8220;Magyar&#8221; Brovdi, commented on the footage on his Telegram channel, writing: &#8220;The Mi-28 &#8216;Night Hunter&#8217; went nose-first into the ground.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"$400 Ukrainian Drone Destroys $19M Russian Helicopter #drone #ukrainewar #uav\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PbYJgIzxkXE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the manufacturer, a Shrike 10 costs less than $400, while the price of an Mi-28 can reach $19 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>Mi-28 Night Hunter<\/em> is a Russian attack helicopter designed to engage armoured vehicles, personnel and other ground targets. It is armed with a 30 mm automatic cannon and can carry both guided and unguided rockets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2026\/07\/germany-shrike-procurement\/\"><strong>Read more:<\/strong> Germany to finance procurement of 50,000 Ukrainian-made Shrike FPV drones<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the second Russian helicopter destroyed using a Shrike drone since the start of Russia&#8217;s full-scale invasion.
