Ukrainian-American company Swarmer<\/a> and American drone manufacturer Powerus have announced a partnership. The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding and will jointly explore how Swarmer’s drone swarm management software can be integrated into Powerus platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powerus manufactures heavy-lift xFold Dragon UAVs for cargo transport, with three versions currently in its lineup. In addition, the company has developed reconnaissance and surveillance drones, FPV strike drones operating on radio control and fibre optic, and an interceptor. On its website, Powerus also states that it converts maritime vessels into unmanned systems. To this end, the developers integrate autonomy software, sensors, and communication and control systems into the vessels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swarmer’s software will be tested for both aerial and maritime systems. The companies plan to evaluate coordinated multi-drone operations, counter-UAV and critical infrastructure protection scenarios, as well as production and integration capabilities supported by Powerus’s US manufacturing base and its network of strategic suppliers. At the same time, the release<\/a> clarifies that the memorandum does not commit either company to joint production or procurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, Powerus co-founder Brett Velicovich stated that the company is working on deals to acquire Ukrainian drone manufacturers or licence their technology. Powerus itself was founded in 2025 in Florida. WSJ<\/a> reported that the company is backed by Donald Trump’s sons; it also became one of the participants in the second phase of Drone Dominance \u2013 an American programme that tests strike UAVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, Swarmer signed a $2.8m contract<\/a> with Ukrainian company Meta Bureau, which manufactures SkyKnight drones. The agreement covers more than 16,000 software licences to be used on board the UAVs. At the same time, in its latest financial report the company stated that it had concluded its cooperation with its largest Ukrainian client, to which it had been providing services. As a result, its revenue in the first quarter of 2026 declined compared to the same period of the previous year, coming in at $20,300.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
