{"id":31066,"date":"2026-06-03T12:17:06","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T09:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/?p=31066"},"modified":"2026-06-03T14:23:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T11:23:15","slug":"molfar-defence-technologies-raised-2-mln","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2026\/06\/molfar-defence-technologies-raised-2-mln\/","title":{"rendered":"Polish-Ukrainian radar startup Molfar raises \u20ac2 million at a \u20ac15 million valuation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Polish-Ukrainian radar startup Molfar Defence Technologies has raised \u20ac2 million in funding, Defender Media has learned from Swedish investment firm Front Ventures, which led the round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/front-ventures\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/uk\/tags\/front-ventures\/\">Front Ventures<\/a> invested \u20ac1.5 million and acquired a 10% stake in Molfar, valuing the company at \u20ac15 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The financing will be used to expand Molfar\u2019s engineering team in radar development, signal processing and system integration. The company is also establishing an office in Ukraine to strengthen operational proximity to its primary deployment environment and accelerate collaboration with brigades already engaged in testing and validation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Molfar Is building<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Molfar was founded in 2026 by a team with extensive international experience from technology companies. Before Molfar, several of the founders worked together on some of the most advanced sensor programs in defen\u0441e and aerospace, including quantum gyroscopes and airborne lidar systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Molfar Defence Technologies was created to fill a crucial gap in modern air defence architecture and is developing new radar technology for detection, focusing on low-altitude, slow-moving air threats. Screenshot from the company&#8217;s website<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the heart of Molfar\u2019s technology is a proprietary multidimensional structural target representation, combined with advanced signal processing algorithms that extract and interpret the target\u2019s physical signature. The model analyses the structural signature of an aerial target, allowing the system to reliably distinguish drones from other objects in the detection zone. Built-in filters ensure stable performance regardless of weather conditions and operate in complex electromagnetic environments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The architecture includes proprietary waveform and operating mode features designed to reduce the radar\u2019s probability of detection and localisation by the adversary. This, combined with a wide detection range, makes Molfar\u2019s architecture effective not only as a sensor but also as a resilient component of a broader air defence network. The company has several patent applications covering its radar detection technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What the founders and investors say<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Molfar works in close collaboration with the Ukrainian Army and one of Poland\u2019s largest suppliers of defence and dual-use equipment, the company says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Molfar was created to provide defense units with early visibility into micro-drones and other small drones. We build tactical radar systems that can be placed close to the units that need them and scaled up across different defence environments,&#8221; says Maks Dzherikhov, Molfar Co-founder &amp; CSO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Improving the visibility and ability to detect smaller drones will be a very important addition to the new multi-layered air defence system that has been created in recent years in Ukraine.
