Ukraine’s Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has announced a special programme to scale mid-strike drones<\/a> and systemic strikes against the Russian rear. As part of the first stage, the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff have allocated an additional UAH 5 billion to the military for the procurement of modern mid-strike UAVs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funds will go to the most effective brigades and units under the ePoints system: “Teams that specialise in destroying the enemy at operational depth and demonstrate the best results precisely in this area.” The first of them have already received the funds and begun direct procurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the second stage of the programme, the state is launching tenders for the procurement of a large batch of mid-strike drones. Already this summer, the results of centralised procurement will become tangible on the front, the minister announces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over recent months, Ukraine has quadrupled the destruction of enemy logistics, depots, equipment, command posts, and supply routes at operational depth. Fedorov writes that thanks to strikes on logistics, the number of enemy assault actions is also decreasing. The Ministry of Defence’s task is to further increase pressure on the Russians in the rear and deprive them of the ability to conduct active assault operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, Ukraine and Norway recently announced the joint production<\/a> of middle-strike drones. The first drones are planned to be delivered to the Armed Forces by summer 2026.
