The initiative was spearheaded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/defense-procurement-agency\/\">Defence Procurement Agency<\/a> (DOT). Procurement agencies from Ukraine, Finland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom will join the framework. Within the coalition, participants intend to synchronise procurement systems, fortify supply chain resilience, and deepen cooperation in defence acquisition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are particularly interested in unmanned technologies and corresponding countermeasures. Several weeks ago, three or four drones entered Finnish airspace; while no damage was sustained, it served as a further catalyst for our interest in Ukrainian capabilities,\u201d stated Tero Ylitalo, Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command, in a comment to Defender Media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finland has not yet disclosed the technical specifics of future projects. Our objective is to acquire first-hand knowledge of these systems in real-world conditions to integrate these insights into our processes and refine our equipment,\u201d said Henrik Gaunitz, Chief of Staff of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sweden is prioritising defence innovation. In the near term, the participating nations plan to foster collaboration between Ukrainian and Swedish companies, enabling the joint development and manufacture of next-generation weaponry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-text-align-left wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2026\/04\/zelenskyy-drone-deals\/\"><strong>Read more:<\/strong> Zelensky announces automatic business permits for weapons exports. Here\u2019s what is known<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John Farrow, Director of Logistics Services and Commodities at the UK Ministry of Defence, suggested that the coalition\u2019s primary step should be identifying two or three strategic areas for the immediate establishment of working groups to achieve &#8220;quick wins.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe aim to demonstrate in practice that collaboration yields tangible results. By starting with these successful case studies, we can then transition to more complex strategic tasks,\u201d Farrow noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the official, the United Kingdom is consistently modernising its defence procurement and support frameworks. As certain equipment reaches the end of its lifecycle, a comprehensive new upgrade programme is being initiated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA key challenge for future cooperation will be defining the parameters of information sharing. While exchanging knowledge and best practices is relatively straightforward, the process becomes more intricate when dealing with specific data or capability specifications,\u201d Farrow added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CORPUS participants emphasised that the signing of the agreement is merely the foundation. The success of the initiative will depend on the execution of practical joint ventures.
