Ukrainian unmanned aerial systems manufacturer Skyeton<\/a> has commenced the integration of satellite communications (SATCOM) into its tactical Raybird platform. According to the company<\/a>, this new capability complements the Raybird\u2019s existing endurance of over 28 hours and effectively eliminates previous range limitations on its communications link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By leveraging SATCOM, Raybird operators can now maintain a stable, real-time data channel throughout the entire mission profile, including deep reconnaissance sorties conducted well beyond the line-of-sight coverage of conventional ground-based systems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company says that in 2025 it delivered the first Raybird system equipped with satellite communications to a unit of Ukraine\u2019s Defence Forces. Since then, it has continued deploying SATCOM-enabled UAVs in the combat zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Raybird is a tactical unmanned system compatible with various SATCOM solutions, tailorable to specific user requirements. In its standard configuration, the Raybird boasts an endurance of over 28 hours, a maximum flight range of 2,500 km, and a payload capacity of 5\u201310 kg.
