In addition, reports have emerged about logistics drones and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), as well as information about the first reported uses of interceptor drones to counter Ukrainian deep strikes. More on Russian military developments can be found in the Defender Media weekly review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Logistics UGVs Impulse with mesh networking<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Russian military has received around a hundred Impulse UGVs designed for logistics and auxiliary tasks. The vehicles are controlled either via a fibre\u2011optic cable or via a protected radio channel using a mesh architecture. If the cable is damaged, the system automatically switches to radio communications; additionally, the mesh network allows the UGV to function as a relay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is stated that Impulse can carry up to 500 kg of cargo and tow a trailer weighing up to 1.5 tonnes. The platform supports group operations, allowing one or more operators to simultaneously control multiple vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/impuls-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"\u0420\u043e\u0441\u0456\u0439\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u041d\u0420\u041a \u0418\u043c\u043f\u0443\u043b\u044c\u0441\" class=\"wp-image-21100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/impuls-1024x576.webp 1024w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/impuls-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/impuls-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/impuls.webp 1136w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Updated Lancet and KUB at the Abu Dhabi exhibition<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the international UMEX 2026 exhibition in Abu Dhabi, Russia presented <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2025\/11\/black-mirror-34\/\">export modifications of the Lancet\u2011E<\/a> and KUB\u20112 loitering munitions, which differ from the base versions primarily in system configuration, integration with reconnaissance UAVs, and claimed increased resistance to electronic warfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to open sources, the export version of the Lancet has reduced visibility, improved manoeuvrability and better resistance to electronic warfare, although specific numerical characteristics have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"660\" src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/lanzet-1024x660.webp\" alt=\"Russian loitering munitions &quot;Lancet&quot; and &quot;Kub&quot;, ZALA reconnaissance UAV\" class=\"wp-image-21110\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/lanzet-1024x660.webp 1024w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/lanzet-300x193.webp 300w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/lanzet-768x495.webp 768w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/lanzet-1536x990.webp 1536w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/lanzet.webp 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, ZALA presented a new launcher for Lancet drones. It is reported that a single operator can carry out a launch in under one minute. The launcher is assembled as a tubular guide made of an aluminium alloy, mounted on a tripod. A pyrotechnic charge located in the lower section ejects the munition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Separately, KUB\u20112 and KUB\u20112\u20112E were presented \u2014 guided loitering munitions by Kalashnikov, integrated with the Skat\u2011350M reconnaissance drone. According to the developers, the system operates on Russian software. It is known that KUB\u20112 is intended to attack personnel, unarmoured and lightly armoured targets, as well as stationary objects; however, exact range and endurance parameters for the export versions have not been officially disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/kub-1024x682.webp\" alt=\"Russian loitering munition \u2013 strike drone Kub\u20112\" class=\"wp-image-21112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/kub-1024x682.webp 1024w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/kub-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/kub-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/kub.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Logistics FPV drone Osa Okta<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Arkhangelsk, the company Aleks.Kom announced the development of the 10\u2011inch FPV drone Osa Okta, designed to deliver cargo to hard\u2011to\u2011reach areas. The drone is intended for transporting ammunition, medical supplies and equipment. The stated characteristics include a range of up to 30 km, an endurance of up to 25 minutes and a maximum payload of 13 kg, with an optimal load of 10 kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"824\" height=\"493\" src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/osa.webp\" alt=\"Russian logistics drone Osa Okta\" class=\"wp-image-21108\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/osa.webp 824w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/osa-300x179.webp 300w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/osa-768x459.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 824px) 100vw, 824px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company notes that Osa Okta was designed with operation in complex terrain and adverse weather conditions in mind, including wind, precipitation and other external factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At present, the project is at the development and initial testing stage, and there have been no reports of the start of serial production or practical implementation in military or civilian logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Multi\u2011pellet anti\u2011drone munitions Mnogotochie<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russians are testing new <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2026\/01\/black-mirror-41\/\">multi\u2011pellet anti\u2011drone munitions<\/a> Mnogotochie intended to engage small aerial targets at distances of up to 300 metres. The SC\u2011226 munitions in 5.45\u00d739 mm calibre and SC\u2011228 in 7.62\u00d754 mm calibre are equipped with a three\u2011element bullet that separates after leaving the barrel. A standard cartridge case and regular propellant charge are used, which, according to the manufacturer, simplifies serial production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unmanned ground system Malvina\u2011M<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russians are testing the Malvina\u2011M UGV, which is being considered as a means of artillery fire support in difficult terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the tests, two 220\u2011mm launcher blocks from the TOS\u20111A Solntsepyok multiple launch rocket system were installed on the platform. Firing was conducted using standard thermobaric munitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"586\" src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/malvina-1024x586.webp\" alt=\"Russian UGV Malvina\u2011M with MLRS launcher blocks\" class=\"wp-image-21106\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/malvina-1024x586.webp 1024w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/malvina-300x172.webp 300w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/malvina-768x439.webp 768w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/malvina.webp 1112w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Anti\u2011drone drop system Krokha<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Information has appeared in open sources about a compact anti\u2011drone drop system Krokha designed to engage aerial targets from aboard a UAV. The new drop mechanism can be installed simultaneously with other types of payload \u2014 munitions or cargo \u2014 and does not interfere with the drone\u2019s primary mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"720\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1280 \/ 720;\" width=\"1280\" controls src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/kroha.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interceptor drones Yolka<\/h4>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"404\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/yolka.webp\" alt=\"Russian interceptor drone Elka\" class=\"wp-image-21102\" style=\"aspect-ratio:9\/16;object-fit:cover;width:400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/yolka.webp 404w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/yolka-168x300.webp 168w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 404px) 100vw, 404px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russian sources have reported the use of Yolka interceptor drones to engage UAVs in Belgorod Region. The platforms are equipped with thermal-imaging homing heads and automated control elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system is positioned as a kinetic interceptor, meaning it does not necessarily carry an explosive warhead: after launch, it independently searches for, acquires and collides with an aerial object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-text-align-left wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2026\/01\/black-mirror-42\/\"><strong>Read more:<\/strong> Black Mirror #42. According to reports, the drone\u2019s maximum speed can reach 250 km\/h.
