Ukrainian company Unwave<\/a> has unveiled Choven-2, a multi-channel electronic warfare system designed to protect mobile platforms from drones. Oboronka<\/a> was the first to note that information about the new product appeared on the company\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system is built in the form of a roof-mounted cargo box that attaches to standard roof rails and can operate both on the move and in a stationary position. This design allows vehicles equipped with the EW<\/a> system to retain a civilian appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the manufacturer, Choven-2 is equipped with 14 jamming modules delivering 50 W each and covers key UAV control and video transmission bands: 320\u20131050 MHz, 1.9\u20132.7 GHz, and 5.1\u20135.3 GHz, including both horizontal and vertical polarisation. Drone antennas can be oriented vertically, horizontally, or at an angle and may change orientation during manoeuvres, so support for both polarisations reduces the likelihood that enemy UAVs can maintain a stable link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A diagram published on Unwave\u2019s website shows that Choven operates at 50 W per channel and suppresses FPV<\/a> drones within a 50\u2013300-metre radius around the vehicle. The communication link between the drone and its operator, which is typically maintained at distances of 2\u20134 km, is disrupted, while direct impact on the drone in flight reaches up to 300 metres with a vertical coverage angle of 45\u201360\u00b0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system\u2019s total output power is up to 1 kW. It runs on 28 V DC and can draw more than 100 amps during operation. With the stated battery capacity, the system can operate for several hours without an external power source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the system\u2019s features, the manufacturer highlights a dedicated DC-DC converter for each module, allowing full power output to be maintained across different battery charge levels and preventing performance degradation during prolonged operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system weighs no more than 100 kg and measures 215\u00d790\u00d745 cm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unwave suggests using Choven-2 in combination with the Bashur electronic intelligence detector. Bashur is claimed to offer a detection range of 70 MHz to 6.2 GHz and a detection distance of up to 2 km. Unwave describes an automated scenario in which Bashur detects a threat and triggers jamming, while the operator receives indicators and data on the control console.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
