{"id":15958,"date":"2025-11-17T14:38:39","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T12:38:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/?p=15958"},"modified":"2025-12-09T10:15:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T08:15:09","slug":"diu-hackathon-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2025\/11\/diu-hackathon-results\/","title":{"rendered":"DIU&#8217;s OSINT hackathon reveals new data on foreign equipment in Russian arms production"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) has published the results of an international OSINT <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/hackathon\/\">hackathon<\/a> held to mark the first anniversary of the War&amp;Sanctions portal. The research revealed a number of new findings on the use of foreign equipment in Russian production of UMPK modules, missiles and artillery shells, DIU <a href=\"https:\/\/gur.gov.ua\/content\/warsanctions-hur-opryliudniuie-novi-dani-pro-inozemne-obladnannia-v-rosiiskomu-vyrobnytstvi-zbroi-zibrani-uchasnykamy-osintkhakatonu.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ukrainian and international teams examined open publications from Russian media on the defence industry and identified equipment from China, Taiwan and Japan, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Okuma (Japan) and Hision (China) machining centres found on the production line for universal planning and correction modules for aerial bombs of the Russian corporation \u201cTactical Missile Armament\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performa vertical machining centres from Taiwanese manufacturer AKIRA SEIKI used by JSC \u201cTsNII Burevestnik\u201d to produce stabilisers for mortar rounds;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chinese KEDE and WMT machines, as well as Taiwanese ECOM VL-12i milling centres, identified at the \u201cVotkinsk Plant\u201d, which manufactures \u201cIskander\u201d and \u201cOreshnik\u201d systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The data collected is already being used to support sanctions initiatives and limit the production capacity of the Russian defence industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More information on Russian military developments can be found in the weekly review <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/categories\/black-mirror\/\">\u201cBlack Mirror\u201d<\/a> on Defender Media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Equipment from China, Japan and Taiwan identified at Russian defence factories<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":15955,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"pmpro_default_level":"","_featured_category_order":0,"_article_badge":"featured","footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[1639,322,189],"class_list":["post-15958","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-state","tag-diu","tag-hackathon","tag-intelligence","pmpro-has-access"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>OSINT reveals new foreign equipment in Russian arms factories<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Equipment from China, Japan and Taiwan identified at Russian defence factories.
