The Third Army Corps <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/ab3army\/7496\">said<\/a> the operation enabled the Defence Forces to liberate two villages and clear another one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Heavy bomber drones delivered the kamikaze UGVs behind Russian lines. According to Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi, the corps commander, the ground robots were deployed more than 10 km behind Russian lines, in what he described as the first operation of its kind in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"527\" src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/vivaldi-1024x527.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-102807\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/vivaldi-1024x527.webp 1024w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/vivaldi-300x154.webp 300w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/vivaldi-768x395.webp 768w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/vivaldi-1536x791.webp 1536w, https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/vivaldi-2048x1055.webp 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image: AB3.Army<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/3rd-sab\/\">Triyka<\/a> later said that its <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/ugv\/\">UGV<\/a> units had already carried out more than 15,700 successful missions and delivered around 3,300 tonnes of cargo. The brigades operate dedicated UGV units that cover up to 80% of infantry needs and 90% of frontline evacuations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sternenko on jet-powered interceptors and working with manufacturers<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Volunteer Serhii Sternenko recently appeared at DOU Day Picnic, where he spoke, among other things, about emerging aerial threats and the development of interceptor drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Sternenko, Ukrainian companies have been working on jet-powered interceptors since 2025. They are expected to enter mass production by the end of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ukraine now needs to prepare for Russian small <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/cruise-missiles\/\">cruise missiles<\/a>. When it comes to new drones, the foundation buys a test batch and sends it to several units operating in different areas. It collects data, talks to operators, reviews footage and assesses the results. Only then does the Sternenko Community scale up its purchases. Of more than 100 suppliers, around 20 remain regular suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Sternenko, the main problem facing Ukrainian manufacturers is weak communication with end users. Those who do not listen to operators make worse products and stop improving them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur model is simple: we ask the military what they need, tell the manufacturer to build it, and then we either buy it or look for someone else,\u201d the volunteer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Romaniukov on the key principles guiding his work at the Defence Procurement Agency<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artem Romaniukov, who is currently serving as acting director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/defense-procurement-agency\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"660\">Defence Procurement Agency<\/a>, described his first three weeks on the job in a Facebook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/artem.romaniukov\/posts\/pfbid02tMnHZsNniesB2MqEV1RkJkVDZtHgbQoKJuYPocRCbUpKCNf1os87yNvpnDwNfctTl?__cft__[0]=AZjgre6g02t0QlsBREKnxa-3n3gT8AlMjYmV1bGGBDXNpMMzeZblnb7qu3CG37WMWrwYZye3JF_6AvFBtUu_q4TkHRjfL8HccEpW2d_TZXW4IhgA94yT9XEn8mFxJl_oBfrs75zunPjIYGZuVhR-TfWY8nV3EBZpexA-4XvBnVhJcX5lr-uZcg&amp;__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">post<\/a>. He also outlined the principles guiding his work in the position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More genuine competition wherever possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Further digitalisation of procurement, with clear and predictable rules for manufacturers and suppliers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrity and accountability throughout the process. Procurement decisions must be made solely in the interests of the military and the state.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe state must use its resources efficiently, while the market needs to understand the rules it has to operate by,\u201d Romaniukov said. \u201cSo that every service member can get what they need on time \u2014 and at a reasonable price.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Zelensky on interceptors for jet-powered Shaheds and weapons used to attack Moscow<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 19 September, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/V_Zelenskiy_official\/20960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">published<\/a> a video saying that SBU specialists had developed the first effective UAV designed to counter jet-powered <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/shaheds\/\">Shaheds<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/sbu.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same day, Zelensky published footage of the system being used successfully for a second time. SBU military counterintelligence personnel used it to strike a Russian Geran-5 jet-powered drone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the night of 19\u201320 September, Ukraine launched a large-scale attack on the Moscow region. In a post about the attack, the Ukrainian president highlighted the strike systems involved: FP-1, RZ-100, MICH-2000, Palianytsia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo, Sichen and Pelican. Some of these systems are already well known, while others were mentioned publicly for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Oleksii Babenko on BIHUS Info<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BIHUS Info journalists spoke to Oleksii Babenko, founder and CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/tags\/vyriy-drone\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"421\">Vyriy Industries<\/a>. He discussed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Why the conventional tactics used to intercept Shaheds no longer work against newer systems travelling at speeds of more than 400\u2013500 km\/h;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whether the problem of jet-powered drones can be solved \u2014 and, if so, how long it could take;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What exactly went wrong in communication between developers, the military and the state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The interview also covers the engineering talent shortage, the specifics of the ZIRKA project, and the peculiarities of
