Ukrainian defence tech company Wild Hornets<\/a> is conducting combat trials of the new Sting S interceptor drone. With its help, operators destroyed about 10 jet-powered Geran-4 UAVs and several Geran-5 drones. Defender Media learnt this from the manufacturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Testing is currently being carried out in individual units, after which mass production can be launched fairly quickly. The manufacturer is also not disclosing the drone’s specifications until production begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wild Hornets adds that most targets during combat testing were destroyed using the Hornet Vision Ctrl<\/a> remote control technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘We expect this will allow us to quickly scale the use of the new interceptor after mass production begins and deliveries to combat units start’, the company says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few days, Wild Hornets has published two videos showing hits on the Geran-5 missile drone. They were shot down by crews of the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment<\/a>, whose positions Defender visited.<\/p>\n\n\n

The crew from the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment took down a Russian Geran-5 using the new STING S. This drone is faster and carries a larger explosive payload than other Geran variants.<\/p>\n
