The drone has a tactical operating radius of up to 15 km and a maximum flight range of up to 30 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ratel R1 has a cruising speed of 50 km\/h and a maximum speed of 70 km\/h. It can remain airborne for up to 45 minutes and has a payload capacity of up to 2 kg. The drone is built on a 22-inch frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UAV is equipped with a digital video transmission system and a low-light camera with 30x zoom. The camera has a 360\u00b0 field of view and provides HD imaging at a distance of up to 3,000 metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ratel R1 uses satellite communications for control and data transmission. According to the specifications listed on the state-run Brave1 marketplace, the drone has no built-in navigation systems or inertial sensors. At the same time, it is equipped with an automatic landing system with return-to-home capability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"718\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1276 \/ 718;\" width=\"1276\" controls src=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/recon.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In August, Ratel Robotics also unveiled its first<a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2026\/08\/ratel-kamik\/\"> Ratel K1 kamikaze strike drone<\/a>, built on a 22-inch frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Defender Media previously reported on the <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefender.media\/en\/2026\/03\/ratel-drones\/\">creation of Ratel Drones unmanned systems division<\/a>.
