From May 19 to 23, Tech PR School and Calibrated will hold Defence Tech Comms Bootcamp 2.0. This 5-day online training program is specifically designed to equip defence tech professionals with the communication skills for engaging effectively with key industry stakeholders. Defender is the official media partner of the bootcamp.

Featured speakers include Yulia Petryk and Liuka Lobarieva, co-founders of Calibrated; Daria Kotova and Olha Honchar, partners at Advanq Law Firm specializing in defenсe and infrastructure procurement; Kateryna Bezsudna, co-founder and CEO of the Defence Builder accelerator; and Bryan Rohan, communications advisor and Pulitzer Prize finalist. Two additional speakers will be announced closer to the event.

The training will cover how to:

  • Effectively describe your technology for different audiences
  • Tackle communication challenges in the government procurement process
  • Understand what investors look for when evaluating startups
  • Enhance your presence at industry events using best practices
  • Select the right media to reach your audience
  • Create a message box and craft a compelling press release.

Participants will also gain access to a private Signal-based defence tech community and have on-demand access to course materials for three months after the bootcamp ends.

Participation fee: 4,000 UAH. Ukrainian military personnel and veterans are eligible for free participation.

The Defence Tech Communication Bootcamp is being held for the second time. Previously, Defender published an article featuring a lecture by Richard Brown, Head of Technology Communications at BAE Systems, who participated in the first bootcamp. In his presentation, Brown discussed strategies for effective communication within the defence technology sector.
