General Cherry drone intercepts rare Russian “Klin”

Servicemen from the 118th Separate Mechanised Brigade intercepted a new Russian strike drone, the “Klin”, marking the first known use of this drone in the Ukraine–Russia war. According to the report, the interception was carried out using the “General Cherry Air” drone.

The Russian “Klin” was unveiled in October 2025. The drone is positioned as a loitering munition with the ability to autonomously detect and engage targets.

According to open-source data, the “Klin” has a take-off weight of about 13.5 kg, can climb to an altitude of up to 2 km, and remain airborne for around 80 minutes. Its strike range can reach approximately 120 km when a relay is used.

The UAV is equipped with a warhead weighing up to 5 kg, which may include high-explosive fragmentation or shaped-charge elements, as well as an airburst system.

The cost of the drone is estimated at about $35,000.
