Odd Systems launches serial production of the ‘Kurbas-640 Beta’ thermal imaging camera
The development represents the next generation of cameras already deployed on the front line

Ukrainian defence technology company Odd Systems has announced the start of serial production for the ‘Kurbas-640 Beta’ thermal imaging camera.
The camera features specialised imaging modes tailored for combat missions, including ‘Hunt Air’, ‘Hunt Ground’, ‘Navigation’, and a mode optimised for adverse weather conditions. These modes can be toggled in-flight via the flight controller or the onboard computer.
The system supports advanced image customisation, allowing for granular adjustments to contrast, brightness, noise reduction, and edge detailing. The unit is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity for configuration. Resilience against electronic warfare (EW) interference is provided through shielded cabling and integrated overvoltage protection.
The predecessor, the ‘Kurbas-640 Alpha’, is currently integrated into STING interceptor drones operated by Wild Hornets and into platforms produced by Warbirds Ukraine and Vigilant Works.
Odd Systems was founded in 2023 in Kyiv. The company specialises in the development and manufacture of high-performance thermal imaging and daytime optical systems. Earlier, Defender Media reported on hundreds of vacancies at Odd Systems amid significant company expansion.
