Defence Builder has selected 10 deftech manufacturers for the third cohort of its acceleration programme. This round prioritised systems with a high degree of autonomy and resistance to electronic warfare. The average technology readiness level of developments in this batch is TRL 6 – prototypes validated in a relevant environment.

Key focus areas of startups in this cohort:

  • Long-range UAVs and specialised means of intercepting airborne targets;
  • Ground platforms for evacuation and demining, remote control technologies for heavy equipment;
  • Passive detection systems for identifying enemy assets via telemetry, maritime radars, and AI-based automatic target recognition systems;
  • Hardware and software complexes for precision guidance and integrated command of strike assets.

The programme will run for four months. As Defender Media previously reported, participants will receive a starter grant of $10,000, with the three top-performing startups receiving an additional $30,000 upon completion of the acceleration.

By the end of the acceleration, teams are expected to improve both their business models and technical development. The ultimate goal is investment readiness: validated product positioning based on feedback from combat units, a legal structure suited to global markets, and a production scaling plan.
