Ukraine opens access to battlefield data for AI model training
Training is based on verified data from the front line in Ukraine

Ukraine is granting access to battlefield data for the training of AI models, Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced today. A recently adopted government resolution allows partners to train artificial intelligence models for unmanned systems using authentic data gathered from active combat operations.
The AI platform facilitates secure neural network training without requiring direct access to sensitive databases. The system operates with extensive sets of annotated photo and video materials that are continuously updated. This initiative enables Ukraine to leverage a unique repository of combat data, which has already been utilised in training neural networks for the DELTA situational awareness system.
International partners will be able to collaborate on advanced analytics, joint model training, and the development of next-generation technological solutions. This initiative will enable Ukraine to accelerate the development of autonomous systems and the deployment of innovations directly to the front line. Both international partners and Ukrainian technology companies will be permitted to train their own AI models using this verified data.
The government resolution has yet to be published, and the specific mechanism for granting access to the AI platform remains under development.
Earlier, the General Staff approved a concept for the implementation of AI within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
