Ukrspecsystems has implemented AI in its cameras. This is just the beginning
The manufacturer claims that the operator’s work in fog, during precipitation, or at dusk will become easier

Ukrainian manufacturer of drones and components, Ukrspecsystems, has unveiled an advanced AI-based video processing system for its in-house cameras. Defender Media spoke with the company’s deputy CEO, Andriy Rymaruk, about how the new solution improves video stream quality and about further AI integrations planned for Ukrspecsystems‘ products.
What’s new in the cameras
The updated video processing system has already been integrated into the software for the USG-232, USG-231, and USG-231T cameras manufactured by Ukrspecsystems. The company says that this allows operators to improve image quality in real time, without post-processing.
The following key modes are available to users:
- Shadow enhancement: recovers detail from dark zones
- Uniform lighting: evens out exposure across the frame
- Visibility enhancement: boosts clarity in low-contrast environments
- Dusk mode: optimized for twilight and low-light missions
- Standard: balanced settings for general aerial ISR
The company’s new products will come with this update, but it can also be installed on cameras that are already in use.
How artificial intelligence is finding its way into Ukrspecsystems products
The deputy CEO of Ukrspecsysterms notes that the company has been working on implementing AI into its products for a year now, and has achieved results that will simplify users’ work.
“This concerns not only the reconnaissance component, but also users of the “Terminal” software. We started with operators who are testing new cameras and functions, and the next step will be software. Then we will gradually move on to mission planning,” adds the manager.
Ukrspecsystems’ most famous products are the Shark reconnaissance drones and the multifunctional PD-2 UAVs. In May, the company also opened its own components store. Among them are camera gimbals that can be installed on UAVs and helicopters.
The share of revenue generated by components in the business is not currently disclosed. However, Rymaruk confirms that they are in demand. The components are purchased by Ukrainian companies, and there is also interest from abroad, but closed exports prevent the sale of pendants and other components there. Ukrspecsystems covers its own demand for cameras “110 percent,” says Rymaruk.
