Skelia Systems and KB Megatech unveiled fibre-optic UGV “Bambetel”
The drone is controlled via fibre-optic cable, with radio used as a fallback

Ukrainian manufacturer Skelia Systems has unveiled the low-profile UGV Bambetel, developed jointly with KB Megatech. The key feature of the platform is its combined communications architecture: primary control is carried out via a fibre-optic link, with radio control available as an alternative.
According to the company, the drone has successfully completed trials and is ready to perform combat tasks.
The developers say the system is inexpensive and suitable for mass production. Its compact dimensions make it difficult for the enemy to detect. Bambetel can reach speeds of up to 15 km/h and carry a payload of up to 20 kg. Its electric motor provides a range of up to 20 km.
The fibre-optic communications system was developed by Skelia Systems, while the backup control channel operates via a UAV acting as a relay.
There is currently no information on the drone’s codification.
Earlier, Defender Media reported on the including the ground robotic systems in the “Army of Drones. Bonus” programme. Military units can use e-points to purchase ground robotic platforms; it is known that in November 160 such systems were ordered, with a total value of UAH 60 million.
